Howdy. I am pretty new to open cart, and I am not the greatest programmer in the world, (but I'm learning!)
Anyway, the problem I am having is that when customers check out, it correctly redirects them to paypal, then afterwards it correctly redirects back to opencart and says the order has been completed. However, the order is not recorded to the database, but the money has been transfered. Please help me fix this!
I am using v.0.7.7 and I am wondering if this is fixed in v.0.7.8

Are you using the PayPal module that ships with OpenCart or Bruce's PayPal Improved contribution? There's quite a few threads in these forums about setting these up. Try here for starters .....

1: I installed the patch from Bruce. works well, thanks bruce!
2: Did a little research, and for all the n00bs out there like me here is some info:
2a: You must activate Instant Payment Notification (IPN) on paypal, and then give it a URL to go to.
Which brings me to my question:
What is the URL that I want to use for the IPN Notification URL?

I mean for PayPal, there is a section in the Profile where you activate IPN and it wants a URL to the file that handes IPN callbacksLuvz2drv wrote: its embedded in the payment module
nothing you have to setup in your profile
Do I just use the paypal.php? Or do you mean it really doesnt matter at all.
It looks like the IPN is never arriving. I've used both the paypal non-registered credit card service, and the registered paypal user service, and neither send an IPN, even though I have it turned on in the paypal control panel. Any ideas?
trust me the IPN does come back you can add loggin code to the paypal.php to see that...
that fact is there is the call back rarely finds the order_ref on either the stock or bruces updated in my testing in the paypal sandbox... but the paypal.php does get a callback
i opted to rewrite my callback section so it does find it and process it.
