I'm using OpenCart 2.3.0.2 with Journal 2.9.4 and PayPal problems are getting out of hand. Half the time coupons don't go through at all, i.e. when a customer applies a coupon and buys a product he is charged full price despite the website showing the discounted price. Sometimes it gets even worse and the customer is charged twice for the same product, or somehow PayPal adds their previous order and the new one together and charges even more. But it still looks normal on the website, so they can't even see it until they check their PayPal statement.
It all seems very random and I cannot find any root of the issue. Is there anyone who has ever dealt with something like that? How can it be resolved?

Do you get the same problems using the default theme and checkout?

I have never used the default theme but I am pretty certain this only started to happen quite recently because I cannot recall anything close to what is going on now even a few months ago. I have Journal2 customized to my needs (without touching any code except for removing unnecessary fields), so I am unable to switch themes without rebuilding the store from scratch basically.

Without a test order on a clean site it's hard to narrow down the problem. That would be my first place to start.

Seems kinda weird to me, because PP Standard is quite straight forward. I have my own e-commerce component for Joomla, which uses PP Standard and a lot more complex, that OC's corresponding payment module. I could try to debug your issues and find the pattern, but this may take some time and effort.
