A lot of our customers request a click and collect service and at the moment we don't have that option.
Royal mail have created a service where our customers can chose to have a parcel delivered to a Post Office, rather than a residential address.
As far as I can see no one has made an extension for this in Opencart.
In short, on our checkout page the customer will select the "Local collect" radio button. This will pop up the widget that Royal Mail have built so the customer can select what Post Office via a map or postcode they want it delivering to. Once selected the delivery address is updated in the checkout to the chosen Post Office.
It will need to have the same weight based price calculator like the other shipping methods.
Royal mail will provide the code needed for the widget but it will need to be adapted to work with Opencart.
The fist url is a summery of what local collect is. The second url is the implementation guide and might give you some idea of what could be involved.

This is a brilliant delivery method that is yet to be explored and without a doubt a very popular extension.

Well, just post it in the commercial Section of this Forum, and you might get someone to create it for you, and others, interested to get it.

Better use their latest REST API version for local collect from their website to achieve this especially since you're reviewing a case created from an old topic. Alternatively, since it has been this long, you could also look on the Marketplace for any extension updates. Lastly, to create a new Service Request in the Commercial Support section of the forum to get this done as a custom job.
