Could any body help me with this issue i have.
I would like to use the software but i have spent a lot of time building my web site and wish to keep the pages i have already created.
I am not formally trained but once i have an idea of what needs to be done I can work on ity until its what i want.

Copy and rename the whole /catalog/template/default directory to a new one of your own choice and then edit the templates so as to achieve a better integration with your existing website. A good starting point is the file located at

/catalog/template//layout.tpl, along with the file located at
/catalog/template//css/default.css

because all of OpenCart's output are generated from the layout.tpl.

I for got to put in the its html that i have build the web site in and have tried to covert to php with little sucess.

Thank you for your help i'll look in to it now and see what i come up with.

If you're doing things the recommended way with html, i.e. calling an external css style sheet to control your layout & styles it should be fairly easy to adapt the OpenCart css & layout.tpl, as JNeuhoff points out. What html editor have you used and did you start from scratch?

I have use frontpage 2003 but have since installed dreamwearver cs3 and i'm still working on using the program.  I have used a template off the net to start with but i have all but changed the template completly.

I was just worried that you had used one of those wizard driven programs which churn out code for sites that is subsequently hard, if not impossible, to edit manually.  Good move to use something like Dreamweaver - it's a bit of a learning curve but you will be able to pretty much do anything you want with it if you persevere.  Wishing you the very best with your project ......  :)
