Well, I have spent the last three days modifying my OpenCart installation to suit my needs and wants. I am a seasoned PHP developer and have spent many hours, weeks, and months building custom websites include eCommerce websites. I am in the process of starting a new business, one which I hope will work out, and decided to use OpenCart instead of building a site from scratch. I have known about OpenCart for a few months and have downloaded different versions and modified different versions hoping to launch those sites, but never did. This one I am really serious about launching so without further ado, tell me what you think so far:

http://www.12voltsupplyhouse.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Please understand that the site is still under development hence the empty "PRODUCT AD" boxes on the home page. I have read a few different threads/posts on here about people wanting a forum bridge for forums like phpBB (this one). I might attempt to do that however, I would rather just build a custom module directly into OpenCart using the OpenCart framework. It is a bit confusing to me at times, but you will see how much modification I have done. Some stuff you won't really notice but my installation is heavily modified which kills the chance of upgrading in the future.

I have plans of the following still:
1. Building a Track Order page where a customer can see what step in the process their order is at and if shipped, then they will see the live tracking information for (UPS, FedEx, and/or USPS)
2. Build/Integrate a community forum
3. Build a custom module for automotive wiring diagrams and other information

I am sure there will be more. I have not edited the templates for the "account" section yet so that is next. But let me know what everyone thinks.

Thank you.

Thank you. It's been a long path, but not too bad. A lot of tweaking here and there to get it to look and work properly in IE as well as FF. I still have a long road ahead though. I am hoping for a launch within the next two weeks. We'll see what happens.

I am confused. There are no ads on the home page except for the featured content. How is that confusing?

As for formatting my template like it is, that was the hardest part. Because I removed the right side, I had to go through all of the template files and remove the right side code. No too hard, just time consuming. The easiest way that I have found to create a template for any software is to create an HTML template first with the CSS markup in it and then integrate it into the software that you are using and then finish tweaking it from there.

I have plans for another retail website using OpenCart coming up soon. I will post it once I have it ready to go.
