OpenCart Ver. 1.4.7 {SORT BY NEWEST--->Oldest}

how's it going? I'm new to this forum and new to using Open Cart. i am using version 1.4.7 I really want my Store Site to have the Product sorted from NEWEST to OLDEST as a default setting and have it in the DROP DOWN sort options. when a customer comes to the store and they can't search for the Newest Product. Is there a way to add this to the Site? Thank you very much and i look forward to hearing some possible solutions.

I need this too, but for v1.4.6, this is very useful so if anyone knows how to build this please help us.

there is a "Latest Product" module that can be activated in the admin>extensions>modules section in the backend.

That provides a sidebox that lists the newest products.

Thanks, but I need a module so I can sort products by ID in product category.
