Hello , I am running OC 2.3.0.2 version

I cannot get the filter to appear in any layout locations. I have done the following:

Added Filters to Products
Extensions > Modules > Filter > Edit > Enabled >Save
Layouts > Home > Edit > Add Filter Module to Content Area > Save

I have tried putting the filter on every content area location , with no success.

I have added the default accounts module as a test, and that shows in any location. I have also looked at the database and the table 'oc_layout_module" does show updates of the filter modules location in the database based on where i put it, but not on the front end.

I have no errors in my console when i inspect the page.

has anyone else tried/ have 2.3.0.2 with filters wokring?

Any Thoughts?

You need to also associate Filters with categories, in Catalog > Categories > Edit. (It's a pain, I know.) The module will then appear only category pages, but ONLY if assigned to a Layout that controls a category page, AND the category has those filters applied.

It's a bit of a limited system, so if you need something similar to appear on non-category pages, or want something you don't have to associate with both products AND categories, then you might consider using attributes and a Filter by Attribute Module. That way you only need to enter the attribute data in the product, and the module pulls the available attributes to display in the module.

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.

You most likely did not assign the Filter to both the product AND the category. You need to do that in order to get the filter working on that category page. You'll need to do it for every category if you want it to appear on every category page.
