I needed to setup a product which includes free shipping. The current "Free Shipping" module works on Geozone + Total which doesn't make too much sense from operational standpoint.
Why have free shipping Geozones?
Fee shipping when total is above set amount is a Good idea, but not the best as it could be products which weight tons of pounds. Why take the capital loss?
My specific problem I solved with current functionality since the product is the most higher value on the store, so the free shipping option did the trick, still usps charge shows available. Not the best but does the trick in my case.
Daniel, I it considered on future release this ability to set "Ships Free" on a product?
I believe a simple field with true|false will work, but i'm sure a bunch of class have to be updated and template files.
For now like said the high priced product but It might come soon that a 'eg. free dvd' needs to ship free and I will have to code customize in order to make it work..
Any feedback guys?
