Image Manager not working and Error log warning in fresh 3.0.2.0 install

I did a fresh install with version 3.0.2.0 and then installed the Journal version 2 theme. There are 2 main problems.

1. Image Manager
I can upload images to the server and see them in the cpanel catalog directory
I am unable to preview any pictures in the admin panel or in the image manager pop up.
I am also unable to select any of the pictures in the pop up to use. Here’s what I see in the admin panel. There’s no preview of the cart icon. I can check the box and select but it doesn’t install the image. I checked the error log to see if there was something regarding this.

2. Error Log
I checked the admin panel error log and when I tried to download the log received this message:

Warning: Your error log file error.log is 0B!

I then checked the Cpanel error log in the storage/log directory and it was empty. I am getting warning messages on the front end of the website.

When running the image manager, press F12 to run the developers kit. Go to the Console tab. Do you notice error messages appearing?

Thanks for your response. The console was empty. I went through the motions of trying to install an image in the settings/store and nothing was displayed on the console tab. Any other thoughts?
