Adding custom html blocks to homepage

Hello all

I have tried to add a custom html block to my homepage by navigating to Extensions > Selecting modules from the dropdown list > scrolling down to HTML Content > Clicking + to Add New and filling in the credentials (making sure enabled).

I just can't see how to add that custom html block to my homepage after that. I go into layouts and look, but when selecting from the dropdown lists things to add to the HOME layout, the module I named WELCOME simply doesn't show.

When I look at the extensions > modules list HTML CONTENT is showing as disabled, and I can't seem to work out how to enable it. The 'Welcome' block I created under it however shows as ENABLED. Unsure if that could be the problem?

Edit your new module and scroll to the bottom. You'll see the 'disable/enable' drop -down selector
