Well, this is not quite a Consumer Forum, and personal experience
is rather seldom shared, since everyone could also be a potential Competitor,
by nature of OC things. And who would eventually even buy multiple such Mods,
to then tell others for free, wich one matches best ?!
So, better do not over-estimate the sharing-knowledge Idea behind OC, most
of the OC-Users would not share a single thing, or then, this place would be crowded.
Good Luck!

This is actually incredibly simple to do. Instead of using existing Banners or Slideshows (which do not provide this flexibility), rather create a new module using Extensions/Extensions/Modules/HTML Content . You can create a new module into which you can cut and paste any one of dozens of carousel/video/whatever scripts you want to use, simply using the </> "Code View" option. You can play around with the code simply by toggling back and forth out of the Code View to see the effect before you save the module. You need to toggle out of the Code View before you save the module in order for the changes you want to be enacted. Then you can add the module to any page layout in the same way as the Banners and Slideshows are added.
