Hello,

I have been attempting to upgrade our store's opencart from v1.5.6 to 3.0.2.0 by following the guide on the website.
However when visiting my "mysite.co.uk/update" (visiting /install does not work) I can load to pre-configuration and i get the message "Warning: admin/config.php does not exist. You need to rename admin/config-dist.php to admin/config.php!" I have removed the config-dist.php files from uploading to my remote site as per the tutorial guide however i can't proceed on upgrading Opencart any further without a blank config.php and /admin/config.php file

If I include my current config files the opencart update page doesn't even load.

Please advise as the opencart update tutorial is telling me mixed things to the update screen itself which doesn't let me proceed without a blank config file.

I'm just being very cautious as i do not want to wipe away the work we've done on the website and i'm still quite new to Opencart as a previously Magento & Wordpress user who doesn't have much knowledge of backend development.

But it's not a tutorial, still, it may brings you down to earth. An older Version OC
is like an older Version Windows, and you cannot upgrade an XP either, to
look and work like a Window 10. The only Upgrade can be made to a DB, and
everything else, ever used before, is History, to be removed , if you don't plan to
keep a Data - Scrapyard on your Server.

Regardless of what you have been reading about, they never tried it in real...
Good Luck
