Any function which needs to send an email fails with an error.

* If you try to buy something, the payment goes through but the customer receives an ugly error and no confirmation email.
* If you try to register a new account, there is also email related error. The account is created but the user gets an error
* Finally, using the Mail feature to send mails (to customers) gets the same error.

The error is basically Unable to connect to (my server) : 465 (SMTP)

I have checked and rechecked my settings. I'm using secure smtp settings and have tried mail parameters -fname@domain.com and -Fname@domain.com to no avail.


I have talked to my Webhost about email configuration settings and they seem to think my problem is with OpenCart.

Please advise.
