what does this error mean in my Error Log - I get it periodically:

2009-11-28 21:59:52 - PHP Notice: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: ps_files_cleanup_dir: opendir(pathname) failed: No error (0) in <file location>\store\system\library\session.php on line 1

you have a permissions problem on your tmp directory!

this is nothing to do with opencart. I have already explained to you to contact your host.

This is the problem:

opendir(pathname) failed

wrong premissions. it is actually telling you the problem. wrong permission on your session directoy. the directory that is setup in your php config file. also check how much space you ghave on your host.

I agree. I have this same issue and as a mere user of OpenCart rather than a programmer I have no clue what this error log message is trying to tell me.

Maybe someone could actually explain what permissions would need to be set for the tmp folder?
