Adding tracewatch code

Hi all, I've searched for the answer and if I missed it I apologise.

i've installed tracewatch to give it a go but it says I have to add the PHP code to the pages I want to track, the problem I have is two fold (i think).

First problem, I'm not sure which page to put the tracker onto, do I need to put it on just one page? or do I put it on multiple pages?

Once I know which page, where abouts do I insert my code?

I would guess that it needs to be on every page to track all page visits

Therefore you can probably put it in your footer.tpl (catalog/view/theme/default/template/common/footer.tpl)
