I have a store that uses an eamil @prodigy.net as the main/only contact I added others into the order.php and there is no problem with them except one to @bellsouth.net

The problem with the @prodigy/bellsouth is that there are no emails received on new orders while all the others get one one is gmail one is optonline.net [isp] one is @fastmail.fm and 2 are @nerdshack.com

are there any know issues with @prodigy/yahoo [prodigy was bought by yahoo I think]

also last night I could not get to paypal In IE 7 or 8 works fine in FF and chrome-see photo for error

1 hr later it worked--this morning it did not--it still does not--it may work later??

paypal is enabled with sale as the function and free shipping is enabled in shipping module

Please advise or it will be a long day :o

OK I have not done an exhaustive test but it appears to be a domain issue

The hosting account at stablehost was opened after the domain name was purchased at 1and1[against my advice] :o

They do not use nameservers to direct domains as I recall

stablehost was giving a free domain with the account so we opted to get a .net for the .com we already had from 1and 1.com

It seems that it works [goes to paypal sign in] in IE for the .net all the time, but not for the .com which is redirected or pointed to the store which is xyz.net--It may work with the .com some of the time--I was not noticing where the browser was taking me by way of the drop down menu of suggestions

Firefox and Chrome work all the time in either case.

Is there anything i can edit in any file that may help this work--I do not want to host with 1&1,but obviously need the .com to work all the time in all browsers.

I will be talking to 1and 1 and stablehost but would like any input from here since it may be a known issue that i did not find in searching

thanks

So paypal works fine consistently in FF but not IE?
The nameservers shouldn't have any affect on this. It is just a form post. Maybe for the IPN it might have trouble coming back, but the screenshot you posted usually means there are errors. Sometimes related to using a Sandbox account on the live site or having invalid parameters passed to paypal

On your checkout/confirm page, view the source and find the paypal form near the bottom and post that here

Code: Select all

<form action="https://www.paypal.com/webscr....>
<input.....>
</form>

Well the form looks correct. You are saying that when you submit that, you get the paypal error in the screenshot above?

I don't know if I told you or if you noticed but the page does not show up in the address bar for .com like it does for .net

like vds.net/brushes in .net
and all it ever is in .com is vds.com not matter what page you are on

while I was typing you replied

OK just got off phone with 1and 1 support
when I first went in to get the .com name directed to the .net account i was told what to do and it was some frame thing like this

Destination Forwarded (Frame Redirect) to: http://www.vdess.net

So now I go to 1and 1 support with the problem as stated and put the name servers in like I was looking to do in the first place,but was not given the option, and we shall see--I did it but need to have their tech do it again because it is not showing up as done ???

THEY SAY --UP TO 48 HRS TO SEE IF IT FIXES IT >:( >:(

I know it will not be that long but still..

Thanks for all the support and I will post back when it happens..

Eh?
First off.. if you are trying to redirect your .com to .net, you can simply change that at your domain registrar. Instead of entering a nameserver just choose "Redirect to xxx.com" and enter your address. Iframe redirect makes no sense to me

Also, try to focus on one issue. between pm and this I still have no idea what the problem you are having is. I'm ready to delete this thread and have you start over. first its about emails then paypal then IE vs FF, then redirecting random sites.

No more sugar while posting please.

Start over.. one problem per thread.

Sorry--I apologize-- I thought they may have been related--and caused by 1 and 1

Personally I have many domain registered at godaddy and namecheap that are all pointing to other domains and know as much as I need to know about dns1 and dns2, and i never needed any help finding it in my account.

I could not find how to do it in his account on 1and1 and sought help from support. I asked quite clearly " where do I go to to edit the domain name servers" and was NOT given that option--it was like it did not exist in there custom control panel I have no use for.

I got the message Q ..[how could I not-]

One problem at a time.

Thanks
