Site not sending info to Paypal

My daughter is having a problem using 2.3.0.2 using Paypal Standard.
She sells personalised paper cuts and each product has various options. When you go through to Paypal it is showing anything from "There seems to be a problem - return to merchant" to showing an empty description and a postage rate of £2.95 (which she doesn't have).

Is anyone aware of any current problems at Paypal?
The site is a standard set up with no extra extensions.
