History:
thespiritcorner.com
opencart 2.3.0.2
journal theme 2.9.5
hosted with a2hosting.com

all was going well until today. install of ssl certificate and did the check on whynotpadlock.com showed 2 errors. didn't know how to fix, so ignored that for the time being.

then I found this site/link:
https://isenselabs.com/posts/for-dummie ... n-opencart

so I opened the pages they suggested in my webeditor, everything looked okay. I clicked on "save" vs "cancel" and now my site says the site isn't working and can't handle the request.

any help appreciated asap. I would like to be able to get back to where I was BEFORE something happened with the config files. I didn't think I did anything to them, but maybe my editor put extra code in there? ??? ???

Hi there!

I'm the A2 Hosting Liaison for OpenCart

Couple of things:

1. You need to follow this guide to enable SSL:
http://docs.opencart.com/administration/ssl/

2. Then you need to go to admin folder and open the config.php file and find these lines:

Code: Select all

// HTTP
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.mysite.com/');
define('HTTP_CATALOG', 'http://www.mysite.com');

// HTTPS
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://www.mysite.com');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG', 'http://www.mysite.com);
Set them all to https
Now, as far as the error goes, we need to know which files did you change and what did you change.

we figured it out. when the editor saved the file with a closing tag missing in the code. I may have deleted by accident??? He reinserted and it's fixed. whew!
