Paypal Standard - NO LONGER allows more than 64 characters in form field description, will throw error page on Paypal si

One of our clients had a sudden error problem recently with Opencart 2.0.1.0. Paypal Standard stopped working. The cart uses only Paypal standard for checkout. Any orders placed went to an error page on Paypal. The error page on the Paypal login site had no error code or discription of error neither did the URL. Paypal were useless in helping in regard to this issue and after 3 days we final trackdown the error.

Paypal Standard will not allow more than 64 characters in form field description. Our client was receiving orders with the longer form field description until late March. I received an email from Paypal developers support yesterday stating this change was implemented recently but I can not find any notification on Paypal or Opencart forums or developer forums in regard to this change.
