Current version of OC
In the admin panel
When going to: System -> Tools -> Uploads
All you see are the file names and dates added, but you have no idea who uploaded the files. It seems rather counterintuitive, no? Am I missing something here?
File management isn't a problem with files uploaded directly in orders since you can directly access the file uploads within each of the orders placed on the backend and see what and whom they are for, but it's problematic for using customer -> custom fields which require file uploads for other purposes.
The reason I'm bringing this up is because I created a custom field (through Customers -> Custom Fields) for clients to upload their tax exemption certificate files during registration, but then I'd have to sift through uploads which also encompass files for orders as well to figure out which files are the tax ex certificate files and also to what accounts they belong to. To give a bit of a backstory, this is for an online printing website. Thus, I am dealing with a huge volume of uploaded files as you can imagine since they are required for any order generated. There are for-profit and non-profit accounts, and non-profit accounts require approval prior to them placing orders. It makes it easier to have them just upload all the information required in one-shot through the registration process than deal with the additional step of having them to email me separately their tax exemption certificates.
Am I missing a simple (non-modification) solution here? Or will I really need to modify the OC admin files so that custom field uploads are to be filtered by accounts?
Thank you for any advice offered.
P.S. By the way, the file name (without any file retrieval link, however) does show up for custom field uploads in the "additional" tab for backend orders, but that's counter-intuitive as well since I need to still see the tax ex file prior to the account being enabled for orders. So far, it looks like my only solution is to change that portion of coding to show up under the admin panel Customers->Customers (on the customer forms) information instead, if I am correct?

Thank you for the help. You beat me to my solution which would've taken me far longer at this point to achieve. I see what you did in the code. I tested it, and it served as a very good quick fix for now. I sent you a donation for your time
