Import / Export Tool import error (options)

Hi there, I have installed the Import / Export tool onto my Opencart 2.3.0.2 site.

The export part works fine. I am starting a new website, where I want to use the tool to import all of my products / categories / product options etc etc.

I have successfully imported my categories, however, it is the product side which is not working. When I import my products, I get this error message:

Export/Import: Undefined option_name 'Size (Bodyarmour)' used in worksheet 'ProductOptions'!

Where of course 'Size (Bodyarmour)' is the name of one of my product options. The thing is, I cannot work out why this isn't working - I understand that the option isn't defined, but that's because I want the import tool to create / define it for me (as part of the import).

Please can you advise why this is happening? I have tried checking the opencart forum / google but nothing that matches my search works. I have even tried highlighting all cells on the ProductOptions tab and the ProductOptionsValues tab and making sure they are formatted as text, but that doesn't work either, I get the same errors each time.

You need to define your options separately before using them in the product imports.

To see the exact format of the option definitions, do an export of the Option Definitions from your new site first, and use the resulting speadsheet to fill in with your options and option values.

Hi @JNeuhoff, thank you for coming back to me.

When you say "You need to define your options separately before using them in the product imports." do you mean that I need to input these manually into the opencart backend (ie your spreadsheet cannot define the new options)?

Because in the past when I used your tool (on opencart 1.5.5.1 a few years ago) you did not need to do this, and the tool would create the options for you.

To define options, you can use the Export and Import of the option definitions, no need to do it manually in the admin backend.
