Opencart 2.2.0.0 cannot log into admin

Hello all,

I have been using the V1 of Opencart for years but I decided to make a new URL and install a fresh copy of Opencart 2.2.0.0

Everything went fine and the demo store has come up fine.
The problem I have is that I cannot log into the admin section.

I type the username, type the password and nothing happens, you see the screen trying to load then just goes back to the login page. In the URL you can see it has some sort of token issue which I have encountered before. The latest advice I got was to downgrade to the 2.1 versions but I am suppose to upgrade not downgrade. Can anyone give me and idea on where to look so I can fix this issue.

Apparently 2.2 had quite alot of bugs, why not go straight to 2.3.0.2

Ok shall do, lets see if this one is ok. I did try the other day on 2.3 but if I remember it was not working due to me using php 5.4 but I will try again.

Hi again,

I have just done a fresh install of 2.3.0.2 and I have the same problem. I goto Admin page, try to log in and it does nothing. It tries to load the next page, then just goes back to the login screen
I really do not know what to do here, I am so close now to going back to v1.5

I havent come across this myself so not really sure what else to suggest.

My 2.3.0.2 version is only on locahost using xampp running 5.5php and that all works ok.

Hopefully someone will come along soon to give you some ideas
