How2 reverse billing/shipping at checkout?

I'm looking for a solution to the checkout path.

Currently OC requests billing address first..

Studies have shown that asking for shipping address first increases conversions.

So what I want to do is to ask user for shipping address and then provide checkbox to say "billing address is same as shipping address" (opposite of the way opencart handles it now.)

I would hope there's a module for this... but if not I might be able to alter existing code with a little direction.

There's no easy way to do this in the default checkout, due to the way the checkout files are coded, so your best bet is probably to find a quick checkout or one-page checkout extension. That way you can reorder the fields so shipping appears above billing. There are lots of quick checkout extensions listed in opencart.com:

Its not about just changing the order in which they are entered.. it has to have checkbox activity reversed...

I haven't seen one with that behavior, but you could probably contact a developer of one of the quick checkouts, and see if they can add that for you. If not, you'll probably need to hire someone to write a custom modification for you.

I think the easy way to change titles. 95% of users click "billing address is the same".

That wouldn't work if you have shipping methods for different locations, since it would then be based on the "billing" address (which is actually the shipping address).

and of course then billing and shipping address would be reversed in invoice and all other places in opencart.
