Upgrade from Version 1.5.6.4 ... keep template same?

I have opencart Version 1.5.6.4.

If I upgrade to the latest version of opencart (2.3 I think), will that break my template.

This may be to generic of a questions without knowledge of the specific template...

Just wondering how tied the tempate is to the version of opencart...

Yes, it will break your template. If you're using a custom theme, you should check with the developers to see if there is an updated version for the OC version you want to use.

you would probably be better off, to change the Theme, into a responsive one, and keep the Version ! :D
For the time beeing, at least.
