Hi:

I've upgraded and moved to a new domain and now all that is showing is the default opencart products.

I tried to upgrade from 1.5.4.1 to 2.1.0.2 - I know a huge jump. Anyway, I ended up with a bunch of errors. I'd been wanting to move my store to a folder in my main website and decided it was the perfect time to try. So I abandoned the idea of upgrading the existing store.

What I've done so far:
- Downloaded / backed up the old database
- Did a fresh install of 2.1.0.2 in the folder of the domain I want to use.
- Created a new database.
- Imported the old database info into the new database.
- Went through the install steps.
- I've checked the config.php and admin/config.php files and everything "seems" to be in order.

But all I'm seeing is the default opencart store.

HELP!

During install, opencart just created new databse entrys,.
As you probally did not use the old config files, a cleaninstall was done and not a upgrade of your database.

check your database, and see wich prefix your old database has, edit config. php files and change databse prefix to match old database.
Next go to install folder and a upgrade screen will apear.

Which lines in the config.php and admin/config.php need to change with the old prefix?

I checked and the old information was actually successfully imported into the new database I created. All the old URLs inside the old database were changed to the new.

I've tried changing the prefix to the old database prefix in config.php and admin/config.php and get errors.
I've even tried changing the prefer to the new database prefix in config.php and admin/config.php and still get errors.
The only prefix that renders a shopping art is oc_
But ... it is rendering the demo or default opencart stuff.

Which upgrade script did you use? If you used the one that comes with it, that's a problem.

You need to use this update script: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=181&t=159898

As I tried to explain, apparently not very well, is that I ABANDONED the idea of upgrading the previous store as it existed.

These are the things I did:
- a fresh (new - not an upgrade) install of 2.1.0.2 on a new domain folder,
- created a new database on the new domain,
- imported the saved database (from the existing store) into the new database that was created,
- did the install
- checked the config.php and admin/config.php files

My web host people are saying things are configured properly.
But I'm still just seeing the opencart default store - none of my products, logo, etc.
I've checked the database and my previous information is in there.

The install procedure installs the default opencart.sql from the installer. This overwrote the data you imported into your new database. What you should have done was reverse those 2 procedures. In other words, do the install, then import your saved data.

To fix your problem you now need to re-import your saved database into the new database and then run an upgrade script to update your old database structure to the new structure, as there have been changes in the database structure between versions.

Thank you for finishing the clarification! I didn't have the time in my last post to go into the much needed detailed explanation.
