All:

in a 1.4.4 installation, I have successfully gotten SSL to work for the admin settings page, but I cannot get it to work for the actual store. Having it work in the admin panel indicates that I correctly edited my admin/config.php file, and that the SSL cert is correctly associated to my domain, I assume.

Can anyone think of anything that might be causing this behavior?

There's a bug in 1.4.4 which breaks HTTPS links in the storefront.

Thanks Ryan. I had seen the threads here on this issue, but this wasn't my problem. For me, the URL when I went to checkout didn't change at all...the URL just stayed http:// for the entire shopping "experience" (although https: was working in the admin control panel).

I got it working last night, I think after performing the following steps:

1. Went into: System>Manage Stores>[Edit] store>Store URL and changed the store URL away from the certificate URL of "www.mydomain.com" to "mydomain.com".

2. This unchecked the "Use SSL" radio button in >System>Settings>Server tab

3. I changed the Store URL above back to the proper certificate domain URL for my site of "www.mydomain.com", reenabled the "Use SSL" radio button, and it just started working.

I have no idea exactly what caused the change, or if the above was just coincidental, but I'd thought I'd post what I observed in case it helps someone else. Crazy, I know.
