Hello everyone

We seem to be having an issue out of the blue the last few days that we cannot find the root-cause to it.
I haven't updated or fiddled with the techy side of Opencart for months just because it was stable enough to operate the business and since this Monday we seem to be unable to edit / update any orders.

Is there any reason this could be happening? Is there any way that we could fix it?
I have attached the error pop up as well as the order.php file which seems to be causing this?

Opencart version 2.0.1.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sam

This issue has been fixed along the newer version of Opencart releases. This was caused by a callback restriction in effect and imposed by hosts which does not allow multiple operations to be set per queries on the back-end. This methodology has been changed, since. I would suggest to upgrade your Opencart platform to the newest version to resolved most of the issues.

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. This is a LIVE store not a test one. Not sure if updating the entire core store to fix one issue and create 20 more is anyway near best practice.
Is there any notes on how to update / modify the required files instead for 2.0.1.1 version?

Moreover why this has started happening now? We have been running 2.0.1.1 since Christmas and have not had any code updates since then. Are you suggesting that opencart has somehow access on our core files and have fiddled with something or how exactly this has only started happening now?

It definitely is on that side. Your site by being live still leaves you the possibility on setting your site under maintenance so not to affect your store.

There are no detailed notes on how to modify the required files but there's is definitely one note I can provide and it is NOT to use the upgrade feature from the core but rather by following this well-known topic: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=165659

Every single hosts on this planet assigns the right to make any global modification restrictions to their servers without consent which, in a sense, I understand how unfortunate this may be for website owners. However, fortunately, by following the suggestion on my previous statement, it could definitely save you the day by also downloading the latest version of Opencart before running the referred tool. This suggestion can also be tested on a test folder aside your live server to ensure a successful upgrade.

This would all be great if we used the basic Opencart template but like most eshop owners here were using a custom version with mods attached to it in order to cater for modern time needs that the basic template falls behind.
Upgrading this sounds like all the rest will break please do correct me if I am wrong.

Based on my previous reply, that analogy would be incorrect since you still have the opportunity to test the upgrade on a test server or separated folder with the referred tool and the latest version of Opencart which would not affect your live store; especially if a full backup has been made. However, as for the extensions and custom theme, that is part of what we call the: 'troubleshooting' as time evolves; nothing lasts eternally at this point.

Τhanks for your response. Hopefully I will wait to see if others having similar Opencart version have found an alternative solution to the problem. I am rather reluctant going through all this for something that could be sorted with a line or 2 of code.

Cheers though I do appreciate your time.

The added protocols that used to be relative in the past are more than about 2 lines of codes, unfortunately. These changes had to be made on multiple locations in the platform.
