Multi Store Setup

Hi

Does anyone have a simple guide on how to set up multi store using either sub domains of separate domains hosted on the same server.

I cannot get images to display on any of the additional stores, although all other information appears to be ok

At present my setup is as follows but if possible I would prefer separate domains:-

Main store http://www.mainstore.com/store/index.php
Store 1 http://www.store1.mainstore.com
Store2 http://www.store2.mainstore.com

Where should store's 1 & 2 be pointing? I have set them to point at www.mainstore/store/

Do I need to install a separate copy of OC under each sub domain.

There appears to be no documentation apart from posts on the forum which can be difficult to follow

I would certainly value the same, as I need to use it soon myself.

I might be more help once I've overcome all the obstacles I can see I'm going to have to without any docs or help but until then I am as lost as the rest of us.

However I do believe that the multistore doesn't cope with / support sub directories - so the /store/ thing wouldn't work. It seems to want store.myshop.com and store2.myshop.com or shop1.com and shop2.com as the URLs.

This is only something I picked up and am I yet to test / use this myself so I dont know but I thought in the absence of any replies it might be something!

Most people don't use www. when they are using subdomains. But just be sure the domain matches the url as set in the store setting exactly. I've not tried this yet but I may just to get a better idea of it

Can you please write the code that should be redirecting the subdomain?

I have a subdomain that is a folder, and to get it to work, the code for a PHP file in the folder linking (redirecvting?) to the shop?
