Modification stop working after refresh

Hello all,
I hope someone can help me.
When I click the refresh button all modification stop working.
Does anyone have any idea what can be the reason or where I have to look for this problem?

That doesnt quite make sense. When exactly is it working? How do you make it work again after you've clicked refresh?

I can't remember when this is happening for the first time.
One day I saw that my shipping extension doesn't work and I asked the hosting company to restore the site from the oldest backup. After the restore I have try to refresh the modification and they have stopped again. Then I asked the hosting to make the restore again and now I'm afraid to click the refresh button again.

So you dont have to reistate the entire website each time, just backup the system/modification folder now.
The issue suggests that an ocmod that was there before (when the current cache was created) is now missing or is conflicting with another ocmod and it cant apply its modifications. Wouldve been usefull to know exactly which ocmod isnt working.
