i am using opencart_v1.5.1.1 and intend to receive payment through Canadian Moneris eSelect (Hosted Payment Pages) payment integration.
For this i shall be using Qphoria's Moneris Hosted Payment Integration Module.

I have following questions regarding the payment module:
1) It has been mentioned on module page that the above module is Full PCI compliance. Is it PA-DSS Complaint ?

2) It has been written on Moneris website "The Hosted Paypage is the solution for clients who do not wish to purchase an SSL certificate."
http://www.eselectplus.ca/en/processing-methods

So do i need to have SSL certificate for PCI compliance and PA-DSS Complaint?

In general do we need ssl certificates for carts where during checkout, the customer is redirected to the secure payment gateway to enter their payment information and returned back after successful payment?

Thanks

1. Yes
2. No
You don't need SSL for the hosted version to be compliant. There is virtually no way to become non-compliant when using a hosted gateway.. the gateway ensures that by not passing any personal data back. It only returns information about the transaction results

No. All payment gateways have their own API. I have 100+ payment mods and they all have their own API and format. No two payment gateways are alike and each of them needs to be custom integrated by a professional... or me
