Paypal Express Checkout can't work. Constant timeouts...

Hi,

I managed to get PP express checkout to work and my test order did manage to go into the checkout page, but I can't complete the checkout. I got 2 main issues.

(1) I'm getting a lot of errors. Constantly asking me to login even though I went for the guest checkout route. It will get a timeout error, or throw up a bunch of error messages.

(2) The process is requiring too many inputs from the customer. The customer got to fill in all the details on my site, and when it gets directed to Paypal, it requests again the same information. Is there a better way to do this? I read on Paypal's own comparison table between their products, and they stated Express Checkout allows people to complete checkout without leaving the merchant site.

Damn confusing. I saw in the built in Payment extensions that there is a Paypal Pro? Does that allow people to process their checkout without having to leave my site?

A few suggestions. You can install the "Login with PayPal" module and that will require less information from your customer since they will already be logged into PayPal. Another option would be to install a one page checkout module. I use this one: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=7382

I am in no way affiliated with this company, but their support is fantastic and their stuff just works. Everything the customer needs to input for checkout is in a single page, and you can choose which fields you want to capture.

Sorry, I can't help you on the PayPal Express errors, I use standard on my site. Also what version of OC are you using?
