loopback connection enabled???

Hi there,

I have an OC 2.0.1.1 installation working and was looking into purchasing a certain newsletter extention.
This one requires a loopback connection enabled.
So I wrote to my webhoster, 1 &1 . and received the following answer

If you want to enable 'loopback connections' for your sites, you're going to have to create a virtual host setup for every site in a custom apache config and then restart apache.

I understand how this is frustrating for you and as much as I want to assist you with this issue, this is already beyond our scope of support. I would strongly suggest you search this on search engines like Google and definitely you should be able to find relevant information. You may also want to consider consulting a website designer in your area.

I am understandably a bit miffed off. So far I was really able to manage most of my stuff on my own. If it was a wordpress installation I should simply add XYZ to the config file and job done.

Why is it so difficult? And most of all what can I do?
Has anyone experienced a similar problem with 1 and 1 ? Does anyone know what I can do?
