What version of vqmod? be sure you grab the latest from http://vqmod.com
2.0.3.1 requires at least 2.5.1. But always grab the latest and re-run the vqmod installer after upload

Just to mention it, I found out, that by use of my latest OC v.2.2 Test Shop, $_vqversion = '2.5.2' VqMod
was not able to 'find/handle' xxxx.tpl-file Content, it did also not create any such cached Files,
just xxxx.php stuff, in the Vqcache Section.
Just now, I changed to the latest VqMod Release, and it all suddenly functions again.

Correct. New versions of OpenCart often require the latest version of vQmod
