Please Help Undefined index: (sites down)

I couldn't get into my admin due to a Mysql issue so I updated my opencart with completely erased my site. So I tried to upload a backup and now I get the following message? Can someone help - please.

Do you have a database backup? Restore it!

Installing new version drops all tables and creates new. With that 1.5.6.* settings are lost.

I don't have a back up of my database?
Is there anything else I can do?

I found a back up and it seems to work.
