in my opencart site, if i place any order, it is not sending confirmation email?
i did not understand where is the error, i googled alot of times and follow the steps as suggested, but unfortunately same.
i edited in admin panel, but same problem exist, can any one suggest me best way to fix it, in admin panel or PHP.

Fix What ? you better make some images about your ADMIN GENERAL + MAIL settings, and place 'em here, to enable others, to find out, where you possibly failed. But before, check with your HOSTER, about correct VALUES, to be SET in your Admin Section, to make either PHP-Mail or SMTP-Mail working.

an SMTP Host is usually called by:
smtp.jacob.ch (or your account Name)
not:
mail.jacob.ch (or your account Name)
because otherwise, it's not workking, usually.
