Hey everyone,

I just installed a template called "Photo & Video online store" and now I can't access the admin section and store looks awful, shows an error I can't even understand.

http://www.luxury-trader.com

The error that shows me the admin panel is:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /ltadmin on this server.
Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I was installing "vQmod" (didn't finish yet because an error similar like that). Is it possible that has something to do with the "pathReplaces.php" file? Maybe I have to modify the "theme" name or something.

Thanks.

Are you using a compatible version of Opencart? The extension you listed is only compatible and/or been tested with OC 2.0.0.0 and 2.0.1.0, so it may be not compatible with OC 2.1.x.x

There is another post with the a similar problem..

That topic is mine because I have a similar issue installing vQmod.

I'm not sure if it's compatible. I thought it would be, I don't know why.

Wait a minute. If I'm understanding this right, your VQMod installation failed and you keep adding extension to it? If VQMod is not install properly, nothing installed by VQMod after that, will work properly.

There are few version of VQMod, some have problems, and I personally use this one:

https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod/releases ... encart.zip

Get VQMod to work right and then start to install other extension after that...

All the instances where I have heard of VQMOD not installing or working correctly was because the user installed the wrong version. You need this one - http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=19501 and it is best when used with VQMOD Manager - http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=19188

Yes, you are right. I forgot to mention that I also use the VQMod manager you just mentioned. It makes life a lot easier...

Thanks Randem

I'm a newbie so I didn't understand anything you just said, lol.

I was installing vQmod and for some reason I couldn't get the "installed correctly message". I just created the site so there's no extensions or anything on it, just the vQmod, spanish language and a template.

Luckily, I could install it fine now (I think). I'm not sure what's the purpose of the vQmod but a guy told to me install it because it will be easier to install extensions with it.

I'm sure I'll find out what you are talking about a bit later :P

Ok, now if you don't understand what we are talking about you should hold off installing MODS / Extentions / Themes into your system until you do for installing the wrong one may trash your system (make it FUBAR).

Ref reading:

http://www.randemsystems.com/support/opencart/

You should at the very least understand how to get rid (uninstall) a MOD / Extension/ Theme if it does not work out for you.

If I were in you I would start again (see that you still have an empty shop).

1) Install OC 2.1.0.2
Everything good? yes go to 2

2)Install VQMod from the links provided above.
Everything good? Yes go to 3. No? you are doing something wrong. Try again.

2) Install your new Extension (http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=21000)
Everything good? No? contact the developer of that extension and ask for his support. It is free.

Welcome to the club. It is all downhill from here... ;D

Just to be clear: You already have OCMod standard in your Opencart. If the extension you just bought is listed as OCMod then just follow the instruction in the Documentation folder in your new extension.

If you eventually want to expand your choices of extensions available, you will eventually have to install VQMod to be able to take advantage of VQMod extensions.

Some extension do come with both installer file available and some extension do not required either of them.

OCMod and VQMod to you and I, are the same thing.

Finally before you go any further, I would suggest some light reading here and there or anywhere you can find some info on Opencart. It takes a lot less time if you know what you are doing to install something in Opencart, than spend days trying to fix the errors because something went wrong.
