Dear Forum members,

This is my first post after creating 2 web stores.
I solicit your expertise to suggest me an extension that can limit maximum order quantity.
both the stores run OC ver 2.0.1.1 with custom theme from templatemonster.
There are chances that the mod / extension (paid or unpaid) may not work on the theme and thats the reason I'm posting on this forum to get an insight into the matter and get your suggestion on how to go about it.

Thank you.
Regards
PP

Unclear of, what you really expext, did you check the OC Extension Section already?
Or do you expect someone to test, what's available, for you, by use of an unknown custom theme from templatemonster?
Either way, Peoples should always find out, by themselfs, what meets the expectations, and their System as well, because no System is like the other, therefore, there is no GOOD, or BAD. ;)

Hi Ernie ,

I've already checked out the extension section.
I wanted to know if anybody has used any of those extensions (free / paid) on their oc version 2 stores.

The extension owner may claim that it supports version 2.0.1.1 and it supports themes to make a sale.
After buying I might find that I either doesn't work on that version or it works on the default theme only.

I got fooled twice before and therefore , this time I'm taking the other way around.

I surely dont want anybody to do any testing for me.
I wanted to ask the community members if they have implemented a Limit on Order Quantity ?
if yes then how ?
what free / paid extension did they use ?

Thanx :)

you are just touching a 'hot' matter, by asking this.

OC is NOT a Windows, nor a Forum Script, nore anything else, where Users normally tell others, what to do,
and use, to get the thing work best. OC means Business, nothing else. And Business also means, to HIDE Secrets, especially Secrets of Success, anything, logically, and even more important, when it comes to Online Shops, where, basically, today, in a worldwide Market, everybody is everybody's potential Competitor.

And because of this, you probably won't find many successfull OC-Users around here, telling others, how they did it, to belong to the Winners. At least not for FREE. It's normal human behaviour, so, just take it, as it is.

If you know, what I'm trying to tell you... ;)
Good Luck
Ernie

A quick look at the extensions Ernie posted with his link, shows me that some of them are really not expensive.

Basically, if a developer states that his extension is compatible with that version and is compatible with the theme x, then it should be compatible.

If NOT, you have several options:
1. contact the developer and ask for a fix - for free
2. contact some other developer - you may have to pay some
3. post here in the forum
- 3.a maybe someone had also troubles and will share his solution
- 3.b none of the users has a solution, but can help

What I can tell you (and I know that guy), that for example extensions of this developer are almost working 'out-of-the-box' - and if not he will do his best to fix: Extensions by Clear Thinking

And that extension here is cheap and looks not so bad: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=24641

Thanks for the kind words, OSWorX.

I do have an extension that is OpenCart 2 compatible that can restrict orders by quantity, called Restrict Checkout. It's also available on opencart.com if you prefer to purchase there.

It's a bit more expensive than the other "minimum order" extensions, because it can do a bunch of other things (like restrict based on total, weight, date/time, etc.), so it might not be right for your needs. If you just need quantity restrictions, I'd recommend this one by Qphoria:

Min/Max Order Limits
also at http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=20480

He's a well-known developer with high-quality extensions, so his can be trusted to work as well. (The extension is more expensive on OpenCartX, but that's probably just a pricing update thing. If you prefer to purchase there he'd likely update the price.)

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested in Restrict Checkout let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.
