1.5.4 upgrade migration HELP

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me step by step how to upgrade, migrate my opencart 1.5.4 to a newer version is it necessary ?
Does it going to be better ?
My website is online.

Unfortunately there is no step by step guide to upgrade to the newest version. We have done several and they have all been different. There are a few developers, including us who are available to provide this service. If not, the next release should have a proper upgrade script included. There is no release date for this yet.

Hi regarding that the version now on my current website is 1.5.4 shall I wait a bit more to migrate to a newer version ? Or Its too old and I have to upgrade asap ? the thing is design will be lost....modules....its like rebuilding a "new" website ?

If you don't want to hire it done, I would wait until the next release. You will have to upgrade your theme and any extensions anytime you upgrade the Opencart software. There's no way around that. You can keep all of your products, orders, customers, information pages, etc during the upgrade so you aren't exactly starting all over again.
