Opencart 1.5.6.4, using template overrides to create very customised display.
My new site sells customised business cards to one particular customer, a large organisation. The cards are customised to a users name, contact details and location on a standard card template. Information is collected as options for a basic card, and mostly these are set up as text fields (1 line)
The organisation has 80 locations. Each location has a street address (4 lines of text) and a delivery address (also 4 lines of text). These will be set up as two text fields for these two chunks of data.
What I need is the following functionality: - a user ordering a card product will select a location. This will be a standard non-editable dropdown list of the 80 location options (eg. Sydney Gladesville office).
When they select their chosen location option the two text area fields for street address and delivery address should then autofill with the associated information. I need it as text fields because it must be editable by the user once the saved information is retrieved and dropped in.
I don't expect the address information to change very frequently, so I'm happy to edit and add new addresses directly via phpmyadmin if necessary - that is, I don't need a back end built at this stage if it slows things down. I'm even guessing a whole new opencart table might be the best storage solution.
Any takers?
I have already considered using one of the dependeent option modules, but a. they only work one line at at time, not text area of 4 lines, and b. they don't autofill - you have to manually select each line, even if there's only one option available.
