I am attempting to utilize this tool. I have had success uploading the product details; however, I can not get it to upload the images from a url. Does this tool pool images from a url or do they have to be present in your directory folder and the image name points them - in other words, can I just upload it from xyz.com/pic.jpg or does it have to be on the spreadsheet as images/dir/pic.jpg (meaning it is looking internally, not externally). I am using the newest version for Opencart 2.0.2

Hi,
You can use it to import the references/urls to external or remote images but by default OpenCart can't use them.
There are extensions that add this functionality though.
Search the extension market for 'external images'
I made one which can be found here:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... me=artcore

So just to confirm - the free export/import tool does not allow you to import photos from a url - correct?

Hello,
I'm using ocStore 2.1.0.1. I have had the same problem and needed to remove the extension, but after removing it problem still exists. What can I do?

This topic is about importing products using Export/Import Tool by JNeuhoff.
When the image field is an URL, starting with http, it cannot be used by a default Opencart installation. There are extensions in the market to overcome this shortcoming one of which is by me.
I'm assuming you want to import products where the image is on a remote location (the problem). In that light I don't understand your question. If you remove the extension you can't import/export anymore, that's all.
Please elaborate
