module_id / layout_id association?

Hi all guys

I just have to know inside my module controller how the admin has configured the backend

In other words... how do i know the module_id and layout_id in which my module has been put by the administrator?
I need this for redirect purposes after posts

I checked out database but couldnt figure out properly how the associations are made between tables
