Help please trouble with 302 redirects

Hello, I have been looking around and there seems to be a lot of different ways of doing redirects with OpenCart.

I am looking to redirect my old product pages to new ones where the SEO url is going to change.

Can anyone help me please

I have tried using rules like the ones below

RewriteRule ^mind-the-step-sign /mind%20the-step-sign[L]
RewriteRule ^mind-the-step-sign /mind%20the-step-sign [301L]

Rewrite mind-the-step-sign /mind%20the-step-sign


I am wondering if its because there is a "space" in the URL


I am on open cart 2.0.1.3
