One of the last things I need to improve on SEO is ranking for my category pages. In order to do this, I really need to be able to assign different descriptions, titles and keywords per store since I use the same categories for some (Ladies Shoes for example. On Gothicplus I want to include keywords for gothic, alternative and so on. Whereas on Sensualelegance, I want to include more high heels, sexy shoes, club shoes, stripper shoes, dance shoes, etc).

I haven't been able to find any mods that do this, or is there one I haven't found?

Honestly, to make multistores more efficient, I feel every page you can create from products to categories, brands and info pages, should be able to create unique titles, keywords and descriptions per store. Right now, the only way to do this is to create totally separate categories for example for each store - which would quickly get unwieldy and add a great number of (unnecessary) categories (and we all know more categories slows down oc). I have a mod for products, but have yet to find one for any other pages. Categories is the biggest one to me as I could rank a lot higher on the page for several of my keywords if I could include the keywords in the meta description.

I don't know why you never got a response to this. I am in the exact same position and agree with everything you've said.

It is a real problem, not just from the SEO point of view, but even for tailoring your content to audiences in different Geozones. On the surface multi stores look like the ideal solution to having more than one store with some or all of the same products in them. But when you get into the nitty gritty of it, there are lots of gaping holes in the way multi stores are implemented in Opencart that cause big headaches in finishing out the sites.

As another example, multisites have a shared countries list and for registration and shipping. So if I have a US site and a non-US site it leaves open the possibility of users registering a non-US address on the US site for example.

I don't do international sites but can certainly see your point. The easy way for that one is to do different customer groups and set the default group for each store.

I am sure the multistore function will continue to improve and am just glad opencart includes it at all. So few cart systems do (though more are starting to add the feature). I think Opencart could really become the leader in this area if they added some additional features though.

I'm currently on v2.0.3.2. RC running a multistore and I also came across this problem. I would need it for the product description as well as for the category description.

ps. Labeshops, your posts on multistore helped me out many times! thanx for that!

Glad I could help. There is a mod for product description per multistore that I use that works great (http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... n_id=11986 for 1.5), but I still think that any bit of text that can be added in opencart should be definable by store when you have a multistore setup - including categories and manufacturer text.

Just an idea:
If your multistore is not multilanguage you can add more languages(actually the same language files but with different name) and set different language for each store. Than remove the language selector from the front and write your texts per store language.

I actually did think of that, but didn't explore it further when someone came out with the multi product text mod I use. Might revisit this idea at some point.
