If I create an order for a customer in admin and set it to pending...the customer gets an order confirmation email which is cool.
But how do I make them pay for it? I dont see any button/link for them to have the option to pay for it in their order history.
Or is there a way I can send them a payment reminder?

But how would the customer pay? I can't pay on their behalf

Depends on your payment processor. If they are paying by credit card, you can take their card information over the phone and process it as normal. If they want to pay by paypal, you could send them a paypal invoice and input the order as a "money order" payment sending them the paypal invoice after the fact.aljawaid wrote:Nice that's a good idea, I overlooked that.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
Attn: I no longer provide OpenCart extensions, nor future support - this includes forum posts.
Reason: OpenCart version 3+
Thanks!

Aha could be one way of doing it...but a link to pay for the customer would be better. I would rather avoid manually having to send a paypal invoice later though.

Thanks I think this solution would have to be the first one until I can find an extension which makes the order pending then triggers a payment reminder and confirms when the customer has paid.artcore wrote:If the item(s) are in your store, you could login as the customer (shown above) and add it to their cart. Next time they login they can checkout with the normal OC routines. (The cart contents are saved to db by default)
Thanks for this idea.

*** Descripion:
With the default paypal module the order is set and email is sent only after the payment on paypal website.
If, for any reason, the payment process is not completed, the order is lost and the email is not sent.
With PayPal by Email the order is stored immediatly and a "pay with paypal" link is included in the email.
The customer can pay using the link in the email or the link in the page at the end of the payment process.
*** Features:
- no more lost orders
- "pay with paypal" link in email
*** Notes:
Tested on opencart from 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.6.5_rc.

wow thanks that is exactly what I was looking for but sadly it is priced and overpriced too lollabeshops wrote:This one is not free, but is available for v2. I do have it installed in 1.5 and it works, though honestly think I've used it once since my customers almost always pay during checkout. http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=9453
I haven't gone live yet so I may only have the "one" customer too... it's not urgent for me - I was just curious as I created a test order in the admin and then thought, how would they pay for this? I think until I go live and I know how much this facility is needed, I can't be indulged in it too much. Although I do think it has been overlooked in the core. Unless I was expected to assume to leave the items in the cart for the customer to finish it off from their end. The latter cart method is probably how I will start when I go live.
Thanks for finding that extension though...at least I can keep an eye on it
