Hi, I have opencart 2.0.3.1 and have downloaded all the themes for this version. But, when I install them and later went to my admin panel to change the install theme, the layout of the themes still look the same. I thought it was the cache or history but after deleting all these it still does not change? What did I do wrong. ? I change the theme and saves them before I view the new theme. I am sure I did install the theme correctly using FTP. They are couple of ways doing it .. but I prefer FTP Filezilla over the cpanel file manager installation.
My method as learn from the tutorial video using filezilla :
1) FTP Installing Theme : admin -> catalog -> View -> theme -> and install below the default theme
2) or just drag and upload the image and catalog files to the right side of filezilla when you see the admin and below is image and catalog files.. the image and catalog files will be Automatically uploaded. If it says files already exists - just overwrite them .
Appreciate some help. Thanks
Possibly, a THEME does NOT only consist out of a THEME, but includes other files, i.E., in the catalog/language/... Section, in the catalog/controller/... Section, in the catalog/model/... Section, and possibly, even probably, in the catalog/view/javascript/... Section, and some possibly in other places as well.
Therefore, trying to do such in a 'speedy' COMMON BULK Way, kind of, the way you seemengly did, by uploading ALL Themes, you found, may not be the very best option, to keep your software from getting uncontrollable, when it comes to finding out, wich file belongs to what, eventually, when looking for a possibly problem, and it's solution.
In addition, you are HERE on the OC v.1.5.x Forum. This, again, just proves, that you are in a kind of Stress, seemengly, not even finding time, to check first, before you act, somewhere, somehow, for some reason.
For others, this may just prove, that it could be plain wasted time, trying to assist, because, you will not have time, to listen. So, the only reasonable way, to assist, would be, against cash, in advance, so, at least, it pays out, regardles of results. But, sure is, you won't succeed, this way, with OC, on your own.
Sorry for the harsh words, but that's the way, I talk to my long grown up kid's, as well, if I feel, they deserve it...
it's nothing personal...
Good Luck, i'm out!
