Seeking an Extension to offer active products as Options

We're preparing to migrate from 3dcart to the latest version of Opencart 2.x.x. and are seeking a solution for our Mix n Match product.

With our current solution (3dcart) our mix n match product is comprised of 5 lists (Box 1, Box 2, etc ) and each list has the same exact products listed (approx 4-6 products). Each product listed is also sold individually on our site as well. The customer is required to make 1 choice from each list and then Add to Cart, and upon checkout all 5 products are deducted from their individual products inventory. This allows us to offer these 5 choices of our products at a discount and only have 1 inventory for each product offered.

During Add to Cart if a particular product choice is out of stock individually it will Error and indicate to the customer which product option is out of stock so that they make another choice or wait for restock.

Ultimately we are looking for an extension that will allow us to list active products as the product options of a product (like above) on Opencart. Without being able to 'Test' any of the many available extensions I am hoping that someone with similar experience can share an Opencart 2.x.x extension that they know for sure would work . The only problem with this type of request is the result of what merchants would have to handle along the 40000 product options of the 20000 products from the 10000 categories. To avoid the turn around and turn overs, sending an email whenever a product discount is out of stock to the merchant would be simplified solution.

If the product option cannot be re-added from the stock, this issue is rather related with marketing end-view or the product option itself was only available for a limited time.
