Online Store for Heavy Equipment

All,
I've set up an OC 2.x store http://www.aerialliftequipment.com/av/ to migrate from an existing store http://www.aerialliftequipment.com.
We sell one of kind machinery so inventory for each product is always one. Like CHIEFTAIN - TANK
Looking for feedback and suggestions. In particular (in order of importance):
1. How do I simplify checkout procedure to a simple inquiry?
2. Is there a way not to list price on certain products and substitute is with "Call"?
3. How to go about to make "reservation" type checkout for the rental portion of the site? Basically date for delivery and date for return. No need to worry about inventory availability
4. This is probably the easiest one; How do I add rich HTML section on home page between the banner and "Featured" products.

Any particular extension that you like? Preferably in combination with quick checkout and call for price on certain products.

I have one more questions:
How do you go about reserving a product for rent in inquiry enabling to select with from and to dates? This is only for one type of products (rentals). The products that are for sale don't require to-from dates.

I am still unfamiliar with this, so far, and I don't use OC2, so, possibly, someone else will be able to help.

Reserving products could be done with Recurring Profiles with OC v2.0 under the admin - > catalog - > products page. As for the rental purposes, I would also recommend to use Recurring Payment method with your payment gateway / offline payment processing system (if eligible).
