Hello,

Asked a lot but never read an appropiate answer.

In OC 2.0.3.1 (and older versions but that aside) It's not possible to delete the English language because you get troubles with a fully working OC and mods. Till so far I understand.

But our customers don't want to fill out mandatory fields in the English tabs, even when I disabled the English language in the admin. (we got another primary language).

Our customers ONLY want to see and fillout 1 language and not the English language too. This is LOTS of extra work what shouldn't be the case to be honest.

So my question is where and how to disable the English mandatory fields in the Category and product fields? Or even beter, to hide the entire English tab?

Hope for a final solution.

Kind regards,

Kec

Any solution for this highly unneeded and irritating bug towards our customers?

In oc1.5 you can just delete the language from admin localisation menu after setting another to default. Just don't delete the English folder on the server.
I assume the same can be done on OC2 but never did try!

Hi,

Thnx for responding. I just tested it and damn.... it seems working. :choke:

My worries were that indeed you cannot delete the English language directory because of the correct use of OC period. I always thought that you couldn't delete the language in the admin settings too because they were connected to each other.

WHY didn't anybody then just said that removing the English language alone was sufficient for correct use of the shop and admin. This could save me and our customers months of useless work. :-[

THANK you for this simple step. May be for another person very logical but since my question stood open for months not so logic for lots of users I guess.

Thnx again mate and I hope my question and your simple answer help lots of other users.

Good to know it still works in OC2 (and why wouldn't it)
If only I saw your post earlier ;D
Cheers
