If you revert changes of your VQMod installation, does this message disappears afterwards?

You mean to say I have to uninstall vqmod or I have to uninstall any extensions I have applied?

According to your first post, after installing VQMod, this is when you noticed a difference. If you uninstall VQMod and try again on the extension installer, does the error message persists?

Then the problem may be caused by one of the extension. Uninstalling one contribution at a time until you see different results on your extension installer may be another way around to see if that fixes the problem. Although, regarding an issue with installation, upgrade or config support subjects doesn't seem to have anything to do with it, so far, as the problem lies with one or many extensions.

Thanks,
I will try your suggestion and will update you.

Does making direct changes to the code effect the installer? in the sense making changes to add a field on product page etc.

All core files should not be modified due to future upgrade purposes of the platform. It is rather suggested to use other methods than altering core files directly.
