Hello,

I just started an opencart store and needed many products for testing. Googled and found ProductsGenerator which is meant for testing purposes. I saw they had Only 12 Sales reason the Developers do not want to pay JUST for testing. But the extesion should not FREE absolutly as its developer have spent time and resources to develop it.

I foresee a solution for this scenario. The Extension developer should ad a limit to add certain number of products ( let us say 100 or more) in DEMO more and if need to add more then Buy it.

This will make both parties happy and will also increase the sales of extension

I assume, the big Majority of Downloaders, eventually 'landing' on the OC Site, start up with a Shop, because the Software comes for free, but they never wanted or planned to spend any Money, in the first place. It's just one of those poor human Dreams, to possibly have found something, to get rich quick fast, without doing much to/for it. And they come and go, in a constant change.
---
OC-based Mod Sales-Numbers do not 'really' reflect actual Sales, most Mod's can be obtained trough 'other' channels, or directly, on the Sellers Site's, a well. Therefore, it does not really 'qualify' a product, by showing small or large Sales Numbers on OC.
---
Some SAMPLE-DB's (+Images) exist as well, very large one's, partly, already. I've seen MaxD, using one, to show his 'OC Lightning Mod' in Action, but they are not offered for sale, or then, to rather very expensive Prices. And they contain 'real DATA', as well, in contrary to IsenseLab's ProductGenerator, wich just add's some random words, and funny numbers, i.E., a product price of 100.00$ , with discounts up to 1'000.00$ :D :D
---
By calling myself a real Tester, I could not 'exist' without an OC ProductsGenerator. I generated uncounted Numbers of products, to test om Speed, Load, and Performance. It's the only way, to find out, anything else is just guessing, and hope. My only Problem was, that I had to move back to Version 1.1, after finding out, on my Testsite Number XX, that some 'internal' Counter expected me to buy another Mod, to continue to make my numerous Tests, on my range of Sites, i just need, to really compare the different Setup's. But since there is no 'real' difference, between the Versions, I've lost nothing, valuable, because of this... ;)
---
In addition, the Mod-Code is not really 'transparent', for an ever-Newbie-Coder, like me. Depending on Mod's, installed, the ProductsGenerator cannot generate one single Product, if possibly a DB-ENTRY exists, in addition to the OC default-Values, but NOT beeing Part of the ProductsGenerator 'included' Settings. So, one needs to possibly REMOVE such 'Stuff', temporarely, from a DB first, to make the ProductsGenerator work again. Or then, try to 'recode' the existing Mod, to make it work. In that Point, after sales support could/should be improved, even if it would NOT come for free!! But, at least, it tell's you, 'what' to look for, after it stops !! :D
---
On the other hand, where I live, 25 Bucks pay's 60pc. of Cigarettes. Or a 'regular' Dinner, with a 'small' Coke. And this makes it a little harder to 'compare' , i.e. with a fellow from India, or whereever else... ;)

Good Luck
Ernie
